What is ratClubNI?

The aim of The Northern Ireland Road and Touring Motorcycle Club (ratClubNI) is simply, to provide members with one of the best organised bike clubs in Northern Ireland. The club has nearly twenty years of organising events in Northern Ireland and further afield, so why not come along and join up for great value for money week-ends and other ride-out events? Our annual trips to Scotland attract more than ninety riders and pillions each year. Track days, road and touring, we do it all in a friendly club open to all makes of bikes. With over 160 members we have enjoyed socialising together, attending race events, and riding on the best roads our expert organisers can find. Scroll on down to see what you are missing!

Events

At ratClubNI, we are dedicated to organising high-quality rideouts, motorcycle events and social gatherings for our membership
We aim to show you our best biking routes and organise top-quality motocyle trips in Britain and Ireland.

  • Monthly Ride-Outs

    One Sunday, each month, from March to August, we orgasnise a local ride-out in Ireland and, with 24 hour ferry discounts, Scotland.

    Scottish Weekend

    Our annual Scottish weekend is usually run in April and offers club members discount travel and accomodation, plus a choice of the best routes in the Highlands and Islands.

    Rat Racing

    Each year, we decamp to Knockhill to marvel at the BSB stars, as they bash fairings. Again, discount travel and accomdation are on offer. In addition, our own Team Rat regularly compete in Kirkstown track-days. Club members are welcome to join them.

    Wanderer`s Weekend

    We catch the last of summer with a second big trip away, exploring remote parts of Ireland and, occasionally, Wales.

    Paul Harkness

    Chairman

    Chairman, Paul is also a dedicated member of Team Rat`s track-day team. Currently he pilots a Thruxton 1200 R. Vintage but not slow.

    Events Secretary

    Famed for his trans-Bosnia dash, photography and mastery of digital media, Sam's yer man for top quality biking events.

    Mags Murtagh

    Membership Secretary

    Mags manages our club membership and enjoys touring far and wide on her beloved BMW. However, she also has a Speed Triple, for when she wants to drive round in circles, fast.

    Rob Ware

    Webmaster

    An experienced software engineer and web designer, Rob is also a serial Nordkapper, with three 5,500 mile trips to the Arctic to his name.
